About Leanne Fendley

Leanne Fendley is a registered Psychologist in the State of Queensland, Australia and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has over 20 years experience working in both Government and Non Government agencies. Leanne commenced her career at Centrecare, where a large proportion of her work was with adults, couples and families, around a variety of relationship and individual issues. She then worked for Queensland Health, in the field of Child, Youth and Family Mental Health, from 2002 to 2014. Since 2014 she has run a successful private practice, where the majority of her work is with adolescents and adults.
Leanne has worked with a broad spectrum of mental health concerns including clinical depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma resolution, self esteem and identity issues. She has also worked with individuals, couples and families around enhancing their relationship experiences, and improving life satisfaction in a variety of domains.
With a focus on assisting her clients to work with their strengths and competencies, she supports them to acquire the tools to make life changes and maintain them. Leanne draws on theories and techniques from evidence based approaches such as Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy and Systems Theory.
Leanne follows strict ethical guidelines to protect her clients and is a member of the Queensland Psychologists Registration Board and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.
